Description

Another Common Elements concept that sat in my queue for several years before I identified the right artist to draw it. The link, as suggested by the title, is that both the OG X-Man Angel and one-time Captain America nemesis/flame/supporting player Diamondback share their code names with Major League Baseball teams.

David Williams's eye-catching style suits these two characters perfectly. I generally commission black-and-white pieces for Common Elements, but David wanted to give this the full color treatment. As you can see, he knocked it out of the proverbial park.

Baseball Furies, incidentally, were a rival gang in the classic film The Warriors -- the one whose gimmick was wearing baseball uniforms and kabuki-style face paint, and carrying baseball bats as weapons.
