Description

Carlo Collodi's Pinocchio continues to be an inspiration to many artists, not half bad for a novel written in 1883.
Over the years, many important artists decided to give they contribution to illustrated editions of the story, and Paolo Mottura is one of the latest addition to the list, in this case as an initiative from La Nona Arte association, launched in 2020.

Here's the watercolor illustration I commissioned, featuring the crow doctor, the owl, the cricket, and the fairy all at Pinocchio's bedside. The pencil prelim (see additional images) was already almost perfect (only the fairy was missing), and I believe the final piece is really amazing.
