DescriptionAlex did this gorgeous piece for me at RCCC last year. I asked for his take on Moon Knight in the guise of the moon god Khonshu. He nailed it.I knew he would kill it but while discussing it, we both thought it would be a good idea to set this one apart from some of his other MK pieces which are in a lighter color palate, so we threw a few colors around and when he presented it to me I was in awe! He captured the look and ethereal mood of the character so well with the darker, dreamy, midnight-blue background and I love that he added the cestus claw and khopesh sword. Definitely one of my favorite commissions yet. Social/Sharing |

This rocks. Love the perspective choice and all of those hues or blue are just awesome to look at. Congrats!

Thank you! I admit the perspective was unexpected but has since come to be one my favorite things about this piece. I enjoy how Alex used the shifted perspective to add a dream-like quality to the character which of course fits perfectly with the theme.

This is absolutely astonishing; what a beautiful piece - great subject and colors. Man!
What is the size of the piece? It must be a monster to see in person; beautiful work. Congrats!

Had to leave another comment on this piece. Such great color choice and a brilliant use his signature color "patchwork" backgrounds to denote moody, dreamtime illumination. A rich and powerful testament to the mystical draw of the character (and incredible talent of Alex Maleev)! Crazy good, Justin! Awesome choice of commission, which Alex knocked out of the park!
