Description

For me the era of sketch covers is all but over, yet I could not resist this simple yet elegant piece all done by artists with personal connections to the character. Tom Yeates who drew Swamp Thing in the 80's for the early run of Saga of...and even teamed up with Alan Moore for his final issue (64), rendered this rare, serene image of the guardian of the green at peace in his living room gazing skyward. Both legendary creators of Swampy, Len Wein & Bernie Wrightson co-signed followed by the moody coloring of Yannick Paquette.

The Yeates shadows that define the image is lush and creates mood and atmosphere. The colors add weight to the figure and blends quite nicely.

What a powerful Swampy image! The colors are hopeful, and the way he looks to the sky is a great, heroic rendering. It's a fantastic sketch cover. Congrats

Beautiful. Yanick's "colours" are just as striking, tender, and textured as Tom's fantastic rendition of Swamp Thing here. And then Len and Berni's signatures on it, too? If you're deciding to leave behind sketch covers, this is the way to do it! Awesome! Congrats, Justin!
