Description

Over all a powerful, dynamic page, foreshadowing Cassandra Cain�s impact as Batgirl. My favorite panels are the top left where�s Cassandra is dodging bullets fired as warning by her father, assassin David Cain. The middle sihouette panel also stands out as she slaps the gun out of his hand. The bottom panels of the page emphasize a surprising brutality as she cracks him in the jaw, leaving her hand bloodied.

Cassandra Cain is the fourth Batgirl. Her parents, David Cain and Lady Shiva, both assassins; trained her to become the perfect warrior. Her father deprived her of speech so she would learn movement and physicality as her first language. Batman adopted her into the Batman Family during No Man's Land, to replace Helena Bertinelli as Batgirl. Cassandra would eventually turn her Batgirl costume over to Stephanie Brown, and become a member of Batman Incorporated as Black Bat.

Pretty cool first appearance! Right out of the No Man's Land storyline that was already a hit with fans!
