DescriptionWhen this piece came up for sale, it reminded me of those sports chase cards that have tiny bits of the player's jersey embedded in them. That's what it's come to, if you want some DKR art. These panels exist because Miller redrew certain panels in the series (mostly issue #3) for various reasons (mostly dissatisfaction with Janson's inking). If I could get only two panels from the series, though, I could have done a lot worse than these: Batman and Joker in their final battle. That really sums up DKR for me. I'll never own the actual page, so this is a nice souvenir from my favorite sequence in the series. Purchased from Paul Hudson, owner of the legendary (and sadly, now defunct) Comic Showcase in London.Social/Sharing |

Took one eye out with his batarang, and he's trying to gouge the other one out with his thumb! You can really feel the tension of their struggle in these tight-panel close-ups

I remember bidding on this and thinking, "Who is the other crazy person who is bidding so high on two friggin' panels???" Well, I lost, obviously and now feel like I was the crazy one for not bidding higher...

Awesome pair of panels! Really sums up the look, intensity, and theme of the whole groundbreaking series. Congratulations!

Anything from my favorite comic book of all time would be great but these two panels are a bit special.
