DescriptionGil Kane was the first and probably best artist to ever draw the Hal Jordan Green Lantern. This amazing pinup was used to make prints for convention appearances (I believe in the early to mid 90's). It's based on the cover to Green Lantern #166, which was one of Gil's best. He further enhanced the image here with the addition of the outer space background. I've owned this since 2001 and it's one of my favorites.Sorry the scan is low res, but this is large art, so it's a challenge for me to re-scan. I'll try to get to that eventually. Social/Sharing |

This is an absolutely spectacular piece of art, Ted! I also LOVE Kane's Green Lantern, and this piece reminds me of another very similarly styled Green Lantern specialty piece I passed on, coincidentally back in 2001, and wish I'd bought it. Gorgeous!

Are you sure it wasn't this one? I don't recall ever seeing anything too similar apart from the GL #166 cover.

You know, I actually was suspecting this might've been the one when I wrote my previous comment. I can't recall vividly enough, other than it having been a large half figure with a full figure in front of it, so this may very well have been the one. Either way, such a beauty!

Yeah, this was probably it. I actually bought it on eBay in 2001, so you probably saw it on there. It's amazing what great stuff was up on eBay in the early 2000's!
