Chlorophyll Kid by Chris Schweizer

Ral Benem, aka Chlorophyll Kid, is the next subject in my continuing series of Legion of Substitute Heroes watercolor commissions from Chris Schweizer's Patreon rewards. Ral has the ability to stimulate plant growth. Ral also claims that he can converse with plants, but no one believes him. He, like the other Subs, once tried out for membership in the Legion of Super-Heroes, but was rejected. But that's okay, Ral went on to become a founding member of the Legion of Substitute Heroes, and had many adventures with them. I had Chris draw Ral in his Keith Giffen-designed costume, which is my favorite. Chris did an awesome job, as usual. I love the vine which has shot up to Chlorophyll Kid's hand and the look on his face. And as usual, the color work by Mr. Schweizer is gorgeous! Thanks, Chris!
