Description

Even before I loved comics, I loved Star Wars. Despite not being born when the first movie came out, and barely sentient when The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi premiered, the original trilogy holds a special place in my heart, as I'm sure it does for other people on this website.

I am lucky enough to have a number of commissions from Chris Samnee. When I got a place on his commission list earlier this year, I decided to go beyond comics and choose a moment from Star Wars for Chris to depict. After some thought, I decided to pick Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader from Return of the Jedi.

Chris exceeded my expectations with this piece, as he always does. My favorite part of the commission is the way the clash of the lightsabers illuminates Darth Vader's cape.
