Description

Thrilling George Evans title page to the 1976 story "Kill or Be Killed!" With WWII planes battling in the skies above the Chateau St. Clair in France and the Death host narrator prominently featured, this page has it all. I don't think editor Joe Orlando was too thrilled with the interior pages to the story as there is a hand-written note at the bottom of the page (which was eventually hidden under the indicia stat which has fallen off) asking writer Jack Oleck and Carl Gafford to "strengthen" the job.

Amazing page! It has all the elements Weird War Tales collectors look for: It's not only a great dogfight page by itself but Evans drew a very macabre and visually stunning Death the host. I allways enjoy looking at Weird War title pages because this series had a myriad number of artists and each artist has his own flavor of Death. Evan's version apparently is one of the best ones!
