Description

Pictured here is an animation cel from an unknown episode of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series! I've spent some time racking my brain on this one, but can't match it up. My best guess was a scene in the second season episode "It Came from Beneath the Sewers." Looks like April (rarely seen with purse in hand) is minding her own business while Shredder sets a trap to surprise her.

This is a handpainted painted acetate cel layered over background print. In this case, the the supplied background is probably different than the episode context.

These cels were sold framed in mats and protective plastic sleeves at various toy and department stores throughout the early 1990s under the "Animation Art" label. This cel has been removed from the plastic sleeve, providing better image clarity.

Are they both painted on the same cel or did they just put two cels on top of each other?
