DescriptionI'd been looking for the right Jim Lee/Scott Williams Batman piece for some time when this popped up on Heritage--The cover to Frank Miller's All-Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder #1. I was floored. It was one of the most breathtaking Lee/Williams covers I'd ever seen. I mean, not only does it feature a full body length drawing of Batman, looking all grim and dark, it shows him swinging on his bat rope over the city of Gotham! To make it even better, the entire city is rendered in a dizzying tour de force of perspective!!! Scott Williams' inks have never looked better. The cover is just amazing to look at. And the fact that I won the auction is still hard for me to believe. The cover has been reprinted multiple times since and no wonder. My only regret is, I wish the storyline had been half as good as the art! From the Personal Collection of Jim Lee. Social/Sharing |

Possibly the best Batman cover Jim Lee has ever done. I am a sucker for backgrounds- and this one is incredible! Only thing he could have done to improve it - is add a few more windows on some of the buildings;)

Jim and Scott are one of the all time greatest art duos. They're impact on the countless artist's styles cannot be understated, and next to their work on the Uncanny X-Men, their Batman is my favorite work by them, and their's one of my favorite Batman's by anyone! Congrats on this impressive example, and thanks for sharing!

While most fans of Jim and Scott are nostalgic for the X-Men, this cover really showcases the Dynamic Duo at their artistic peak. Cheers! N.
