DescriptionIt doesn't get much better than a Classic X-Men cover by Arthur Adams. And this cover is an homage to X-Men #1, with the new X-Men in place of the old (It also nods to the cover of X-Men #104, collected inside). Classic X-Men is one of those series that succeeded primarily because of the covers. The interiors were mostly reprints of old X-Men comics with a few new pages added. But the covers--Wow! They were amazing re-imaginations of classic scenes by the likes of Arthur Adams, Mike Mignola, Adam Hughes, and Steve Lightle. The covers were so good that even those of us who owned the original comics bought these just for the covers. This one is penciled by Adams and inked by Al Williamson and it's a stunner. I love that it features my favorite team of X-Men--Storm, Nightcrawler, Banshee, Colossus, Cyclops, and Wolverine. And the fact that they're battling Magneto is just icing on the cake!Social/Sharing |

Such a beauty. Well done! I especially love Nightcrawler on this one. Much more detailed and exciting than his image on the XM 104 cover. It's hard to find really good Nightcrawler covers. Also really like how Storm is portrayed.

As is the case with most reprint titles, the covers are usually the star of the show. Like you, I very much enjoyed Mignola's and Lightle's runs, but of course Arthur's was my favorite.

Classic (pun intended!) AA goodness! This cover's probably been homaged 100 times but you'd be hard pressed to beat AA's rendition! Great team shot here by one of the true masters of the medium. Congrats!

I love the Arthur Adams Classic X-Men covers, and this might be my favorite of the bunch for the homage to Uncanny X-Men #1. Congrats!
