DescriptionJohn Cassaday is not only talented, he's prolific. He's best known for his work on Planetary with writer Warren Ellis, Captain America with John Ney Rieber, Star Wars with Jason Aaron, and Astonishing X-Men with Joss Whedon. But he's also drawn an impressive number of covers for everything including Amazing Spider-Man, Black Panthers, The Phantom, Green Hornet, Lone Ranger, Doc Savage...like I said, he's prolific. He mostly works on his own, penciling and inking his own stuff the old fashioned way, then colors it himself digitally. For covers, he likes to use ink and charcoal. I'm a huge fan of his run on Astonishing X-Men, especially the story "Unstoppable" with Joss Whedon, which this cover is from. It's a fantastic story told by two modern masters.Social/Sharing |

Beautiful. I have yet to see his originals in person, I can only imagine how mesmerizing they are in person. Those are the best pieces, hanging on your own wall, making you stop and stare, though you’ve passed it time and again. :) I imagine his are like that.

Agreed, the Whedon/Cassaday run ranks among X-MEN's best. Congrats on getting this cover!

Keep ‘em comin’, Bill! Astonishing was, for me, one of the best comics, let alone X-Men, reads ever. That’s always affirmed when I flip through my trades. And it also affirmed Cyclops as a great character for me. Great cover here - an awesome pure illustration but also so emotive. Sincere congrats!

Phenomenal. Cassady has done so much great work but some of the absolute best of it was on these issues.
