DescriptionI realized there are some gems from my collection that I haven't posted here for some reason, so figured I'd rectify that.My comic interests are pretty firmly set in the 90's, but when I got into the art collecting hobby there was one artist who was fresh on the scene that I immediately was impressed by and found myself really enjoying every new piece of his that I was seeing get posted in art groups. A few years ago I was able to set up and receive this 11x17 commission through Josh @ MMCA. I knew I wanted a Batman Year One-ish type Noir feeling rooftop piece and that was really the only direction I gave. What I got in return was truly more than I was expecting. The choice to have it set in snow was absolutely inspired! Love this one so much, and it has been great to see Tom go on to take on bigger and bigger projects at Marvel. Really has been fun following his career take off! Social/Sharing |

A classic scene in the Batman lore presented in a fresh take where Reilly demonstrates his effort and skills to build upon all the greats who have tackled this subject before!

It's almost like the snow wants to make the scene more lighthearted, but can't, which just makes the scene more somber. Great effect! Congrats and thanks for sharing it.

Classic, powerful, emblematic images of Bats and Gordon. Impressive use of silhouette. Background buildings are beautifully rendered. And the snow lends further gravity to the scene. My favorite 'Best of 2022' commission piece among some very strong contenders.

Thanks for the vote! It's definitely one that made my jaw drop when I first saw it, absolutely love Gordon bathed in light while Batman is hidden in shadows, a great visual representation of how these two operate & their unique partnership!
