DescriptionAdded another piece from John to the collection, this time a piece from another of my favorites, King Kong! This piece started as just one prompt on a list of ideas John was putting together for a Dinosaur themed art drop, aptly named Dinovember, I’ll let you guess which month this drop occured! As John was putting the list together, I told him that if he did the King Kong V. T. Rex piece from the list, I could guarantee him a sale! Clearly, he knew what needed to be done! Haha John was kind enough to share process shots of this piece along the way, and it was a treat to see it come to life over the span of a few months as he attended to these Dino pieces in his “spare time.” John has only been getting better and better, clearly dedicated to pushing himself to improve & it’s been a pleasure to watch! This marks the third piece from John I have been fortunate enough to purchase and I guarantee it won’t be the last. The composition of this one is so well thought out, and is a wonderfully narrative single image. From the birds fleeing as these titans clash, to the screentoned beauty of Kong, and the small Ann Darrow being hunted by the other T. rex. Just a lot going on here, and details in the line work for days! Thanks John! Social/Sharing |

What an awesome pickup! Amor absolutely delivered on this King Kong vs. T-Rex scene. Pure Dinovember greatness! Love the storytelling, the tension, and that gorgeous screentone work!

A highlight of the 1933 film was the stop motion work of scenes like this that shcoked the audience with the spectacle. Roby Amor's tones and screentone work creates so many layers of depth to make Kong the main focus.

John is a master of the dinosaur and this came together perfectly! The jaw pry is a great pose and I also love the Crosshatchasaurus Rex in the foreground. Very nice!
