Description15" x 10" image area. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Detective Comics #389 page 3 original art (DC, July 1969). Bob Brown and Joe Giella.Another delicious page of vintage Batman art by two masters. One can never tire of the beauty of Batman's cape flowing in the wind! Here we have a pensive moment and a wonderful narrative in this opening story page. Batman laments that the criminal mind of Man is everlasting but perhaps, Batman and Robin are the ones that are becoming outdated. This is THE BEST era of the Batmobile design and this page shows off all of its attributes of this wonderful time in Bat-history. The gaping bumper and grill, the sinister headlights, double glass bubble canopies and giant sweeping bat wings on the rear fenders! Every panel with different perspectives of the Batmobile. Gotham really is a dangerous place. All those missing quarters. Monsters. If that don't put you in Arkham than nothing will.

Great classic 1969 issue when Batman was about to ditch the TV series influence and get back to basics. Brown and Giella's pages were the consumate examples of this as Batman fought street level crime in the night.

My appreciation for Brown and Giella's art is high and this page shows why. I really love their way of drawing the Bat characters and the world they operate in. Beautiful page! Congrats!

When you have 6 Batmen and 4 Batmobiles in 4 panels, you're going to win the blue ribbon. That first panel giving a condensed visual of a vintage Bat-Night is so cool. Brown and Giella delivered in spades here. Sweet pick up. Congrats!
