DescriptionEd McGuinness - Heroes Reborn #1 p 7As a big Squadron Supreme fan (we do exist), I have been loving every page of the Heroes Reborn event. When the team was reintroduced by Aaron and McGuinness in the Avengers series, I had no idea that they would end up at the center of Marvel's stage. Not only did I seek out a page because of the characters involved, but I've thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. Comics are at their best when they push the envelope and address important topics, but every now and then it's nice to have a simple comic that exists only to have some fun - and so far, that's been Heroes Reborn. Also, please note that this was originally plotted as Avengers #45...which I find interesting. I could go on and on about why I love the McGuinness and Morales team. Ed is a master at design, layouts, composition, and more. Everything you see is so big, bold, and powerful. The art jumps off the page, giving it this fun, throwback feeling all while being a product of so many modern techniques. Also, Mark's inking is the perfect complement with his confident, dynamic finishes. While I love everything about this page, my first impression was being blown away by the design of both Hyperion as well as the Gem of Cyttorak powered Dr. Doom (causing him to look like the Juggernaut). Next you have the action. The punches and blows are powerful, but it's the background and details that make them pop (just look at that swirling energy in the first panel as an example). Lastly, I don't know how they managed to do it considering he's wearing a helmet, but there is so much emotion to read from each Doom expression. Couldn't be happier to add this to my humble collection. 11x17 on art board; Marvel Comics Social/Sharing |

Mighty action page where McGuinness (as always) puts us right in the thick of the action! This showdown is just fun to see on the page!
