DescriptionRobert L. Stevenson's "Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" novella is without any doubt one of my favorite stories ever, investigating the duality of human nature.When I knew that the team that brought us the Disney adaptation of Dracula, Bruno Enna (writer) and Fabio Celoni (artist), were working on the adaptation of Stevenson's book, I was excited!!! I was certain they would come up with something great that at the same time would push the boundaries a little bit more (it's a dark and twisted story, not easy to adapt in Disney ducks & mice stories). They did a stunning job, making full use of the Disney characters (both ducks and mice in the same story, something you don't usually see happening in Italian-produced Disney stories), being funny and witty at the same time remaining faithful to the novella's soul. I already had a sketch of Pipperson (Goofy) by Celoni, but in Lucca 2015 I was determined to get another one with Donald Hyde. I did. I was literally hypnotized when he was drawing this... it's difficult to describe it simply as a sketch, isn't it? Creepy and sinister, magnificent drapery and cross-hatching. Just awesome.
