DescriptionI still can't actually quite believe James O'Barr was at the local con I frequent & taking commissions like a mere mortal.I also think it's only right to get The Crow from the horse's mouth before considering any other character (I am unaware whether James thinks similarly). In any case, most attendees were requesting the Crow without much further details & James produced one variation after the other, each very distinct but very different. The prices were always in about the same ballpark, but never quite the exact same, as they say in French: "à la tête du client". Needless to say, mood, style, expression & bird: this piece is pretty dang perfect! Social/Sharing |

This is tighter with more details than what you normally see from a convention drawing! He communicates the feel and mood very well.

He was producing amazing pieces that weekend. I think it was the perfect level of attention versus actual work to be put out and I also think the surrounding artists boosted his morale & enthusiasm.

Agreed, this is the perfect Crow piece from James. I wouldn't have requested anything else. Although I did read somewhere where he is happy to receive requests outside of The Crow... doesn't necessarily mean he prefers it but I don't think you could've gone wrong. Great piece Nout!

I feel like I should perhaps try to see if I can get him to do a different subject.

Ha ha, no doubt, no doubt. I'm sure another opportunity will present itself.
