DescriptionTowards the end of the Wolfman/Grummett run on New Titans, Raven had slowly but surely been losing the human side of her character, until ultimately being fully consumed by evil and was transformed into Dark Raven, culminating in the destruction of Dick and Kory's wedding. This piece is Tom Grummett's finished design for the character. As you can see, her personality not only went from light to dark, but her former prudishness also flipped and she seemed to become prurient. The costume design is way over on the sexy side, and although it is quite fetching, I still prefer the original Raven designed by Pérez. Love the illustration though! Social/Sharing |

Really nice, 90’s nostalgic vibe with a lot of Susan Storm Malice going on. Bravo!

Tom's art is great! This storyline was not.
I actually enjoyed issue #100, aside from being upset that Dick and Kory's wedding got destroyed. But it was the last issue I bought. It was Tom's swan song and with previews of what the art was going to look like starting with #101, plust the fact that they had just taken things way too far from the days when the Titans were DC's top selling book, it was my last issue as well.

Yep! I made it to #102. While I think Bill Jaaska is a fine artist, the style he chose while drawing the Titans book was too jarring for me.

Oh wow, you still gave it a chance, huh? No, apart from how badly Marv was destroying the team/family, I saw the house ad for the #101 issue with the Jaaska art and it was the furthest the artistic style had ever gone away from the classic Pérez look, and by a really wide margin, and it was ugly quite frankly, so I wanted nothing to do with it. It's sad, because I thought his usual style on Sable was alright, and his fill-in issue on Hulk #467 was good too, but he just went way overboard in trying to completely revamp his style.
