Description

(Ruby-Spears) Thundarr the Barbarian was created by Steve Gerber, and the show had significant contributions from Alex Toth, Jack Kirby, and Mark Evanier among others. It ran from 1980-1981, and featured main characters Thundarr, Ookla the Mok, and Princess Ariel.

This 2 cel setup on its key hand-painted original background features all three main characters - Ariel on her steed, Ookla on his equort, and Thundarr brandishing the Sunsword. It was likely used as a "bumper" card, which was shown before and/or after commercial breaks.

Thundarr was the best!!! Have the DVD's now for my kids to enjoy.

congrats on picking this cel up. I had my eye on it but clearly underestimated how high it would go. The price tag is well deserved - a gorgeous and rare piece!
