Description

Here on this one, Tom interpreted the original cover to Captain Marvel #17 by the great Gil Kane and Dan Adkins. AS you can see in comparing the art to the scan of the original comic book, Tom's primary intent was simply to replace Mar-Vell with a female Captain Marvel. Though the biggest change is actually somewhat subtle, as you have to look up into the top left corner box art to see than not only did Tom draw the same female version of Captain Marvel there, but in a completely different pose from the one on the original cover.

Interesting that he kept the GK style anatomy for Cap and Bucky.

What a great re-interpretation, starring a female Captain Marvel. And yeah, I love the change in the corner box. Cap and Bucky look awesome too!
