Description

These days, everyone knows Daredevil as Matt Murdock, and the Black Cat as Felicia Hardy. However, many years before The Man Without Fear and the World's Greatest Cat Burglar made their comics debuts, their code names were already in use by other heroes -- specifically, Bart Hill, who first appeared as Daredevil in Lev Gleason Publications' Silver Streak Comics #6 in September 1940, and Linda Turner, whose premiere in Harvey Comics' Pocket Comics #1 in August 1941 makes her one of the earliest superheroines.

No one rivals legendary collector Damon Owens in keeping long-forgotten and neglected characters alive through newly commissioned art, but I try to do my part. The original Black Cat remains one of my particular favorites.

Thanks to the legendary-in-his-own-right Rags Morales for another brilliantly conceived and beautifully executed masterpiece. I'm always thrilled to see Rags's fresh take on any and all scenarios. His inking on this piece is sublime -- the scan does not do it justice.

This looks like one of the best Rags Morales commissions I can recall. Looks great. I'm glad you're honoring they Golden Age namesakes.
