DescriptionMy third Eisner page from my favorite creations of his which are his latter graphic novels and in this case also a three part comic series entitled "Invisible People". I said it last time but when a man of his life and talents speaks to aspects of life itself...it rewards to see and listen.Description: WILL EISNER original art from INVISIBLE PEOPLE, “Sanctum” (1992) pg. 28 Title/date/description: A beautifully-composed and drawn page from “Sanctum,” the 1st chapter in INVISIBLE PEOPLE, created by Eisner in 1992. Pincus Pleatnik, the clothes presser who has been mistakenly announced as dead in a newspaper obituary, has been kidnapped by two union goons, Guido and Benno. Pincus desperately contemplates and fears for his fate while locked in the back seat. The 2nd and 3rd panels are masterfully offset by Eisner against the black New Jersey cliffside. Page 28 on the art page itself (and page 37 in the Kitchen Sink and DC Comics editions). Invisible People was the only Eisner graphic novel that was first serialized in comic books (three, titled SANCTUM, THE POWER, and MORTAL COMBAT) and then collected into a single book in 1993. The layout is amazing to bring the story into the car.

Marcus,
Totally agree. This page is showing a man who woke to a terrible day of terrible happenstances when he was wrongfully pronounced dead through beurocratic mistake. After many other unfortunate events he ends up in the back of a mobsters car and you can see the fear in his eyes. Next page out of that sheer panic he decides to leap from the moving vehicle and through more bad luck leaps directly into an electric pole dying on the spot.
