Wow, great!
Sorry about the markers, but this is a wonderful example of his exemplary storytelling. Great pick up.
Very cool score!
Remarkable page & a bold collector move to pick it up despite the fade. I feel like there must be some chemical treatment to bring back or replenish the blacks, maybe not quite invented yet...
That's classic storytelling to open a story to bring you into the action with some calm panels and then hitting with the bigger conflict coming through.
Yeah, it's a bit of a shame about the marker fade, but with Toth it's a known thing that for periods he would use these markers that fade which to me as a collector makes it more acceptable. Plus I think thr page still looks good and you can still see all the lines and details albiet faded. One day I will hope for a solution that restores black to faded marker lines, but until then I'll just keep it safe and out of light. Read some interesting "debates" on restoration on such pages.
Despite any fading, the brilliance shines through.
Great Toth action build up
Absolutely stunning piece. A masterpiece in any condition - well done attaining your personal Toth Grail goal! I joined that esteemed club recently myself - it's a grand thing to have a full Toth page in your hands, and your splash is a brilliant example!
