Description

Lobo Unbound: A lobo mini-series that ran 6 issues written by Keith Giffen (co-creater of Lobo) and art by Alex Horley. Came across this piece from Comic Art Live event and wanted to play my part. Then I saw this and knew...it was the one. It has style, personality and depicts an entire Lobo-esque scene in one image. It is the final page of the issue and leaves a splash.....page.

It was done on the back of a Vertigo DC art board which is kind of interesting. My first exposure to Alex Horley art and I gotta say...he's gor talent. Looking at the original you can see the swath of brush strokes and inks and it's just smooooooth work.

Horley's painted art came into comics just at the right time with the popularity of prestige format painted comics! This is just the right subject matter with fantasy and sci-fi that he does a lot of outside the industry for CCG, video games, etc.
