Description

For Matthias Pfr�nder's 3rd outing as a commission client, he and Sal discussed doing a Moon Knight & Nightmare image. It's sort of capturing a specific Black Panther story arc from BP v3 #21-22 where T'Challa and MK confront Nightmare to establish a bond with Bast the Panther God to save BP from death's door. The scepter and ancient Egyptian background location also hints at Khonshu, who MK is avatar for. Sal's first major stint at Marvel was on Moon Knight so he always loves returning to the character. This piece as a blueline on 11"x17" Kubert 2-ply board was rather straightforward to ink.

Our 1st Moon Knight commission was for Michael Finn for a One Minute Later job at my website's gallery on 3/17/2008. I hadn't inked one commission with MK before that or for many years after until 2019 when I did a backer board sketch. This is my 3rd Moon Knight and 1st Nightmare (I believe). But it's my 72nd commission with Sal, who has the highest count as penciller in my gallery history of commissions. Completed 9/9/2022.
