DescriptionBeautiful, giant-size original art by the legendary JOHN ROMITA SR!! This is a fabulously dynamic pose of Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle, sketched roughly in pencil and then worked over with marker pen and brush or more likely brush pen. This piece is gorgeous! Dated 1991 and sketched on thin cartridge-type paper (around 80-100gsm), I'd say this was done for a fan at a convention or Marvel corporate event. It looks like Romita had a great time doing it!This massive art measures 14 x 17 inches. I'd certainly be interested in getting any more information if anyone knows anything about this piece or the Marvel/Spencer gifts connection! In the meantime, simply enjoy this wonderful art! wonderful! I'd love to have met Romita Sr. or gotten something by him. I'd still be willing to meet him if someone revivifies him as a zombie.

I feel ya, Koom - in fact I'd go so far as to bring him the meat to feed his undead Muse...

Gorgeous drawing of Tarzan by the great John Romita Sr. You can really see John's strong understanding of human anatomy in a drawing like this one--There's nowhere to hide. Great pick-up, congrats!

Thanks Bill! I think it's such a solid example of his full figure work - and on such an iconic pulp character! Still can't believe I have such a foundation piece in my collection!
