Description

Last of posts on Carol Day. The total story on Uncle Richard. About 110 daily strips. I won't post this many strips on CAF. It would be incredibly time consuming. I have posted the second strip in the story as well as the last one when Carol leaves the island she will inherit from her Uncle. The man who oversees care of the island falls in love with her. She went to the island pursuant to her Uncle's wishes as he knows she is still suffering from the earlier breakup with the man she fell in love with after he hid from her that he was married. It is a good story with a treasure trove of island scenery. I lived in Hawaii three years and those scenes are what prompted me to buy it. One of my prized possessions.

I have read that story three or four times. Charles Pelto of Classic Comics Press wants to publish this one story but he has run into problems getting it done. Some do not want to see it in a book. I would let him borrow that story to scan the whole thing but every avenue he has tried has been met with issues relating to who own the rights to publish it. There is a university that has scans for almost the entire CD run. So, the material is there to publish all of it, but no one on the other side can seem to agree to let it be done.

I hadn't heard anything about the intrigue w/re to publishing CD stories in modern editions/periodicals. Who would be opposed to publishing this now? I can understand how ambiguity in terms of who holds the rights to publish could be a problem, but this wouldn't be a huge moneymaker, just a chance for some fans to get to see it, so why doesn't everyone involved just give their blessing? (I guess I'm not much of a businessman...)

Unless something has changed between now and then, one person does not want it to be published. I just know that Chales Pelto has tried to do my story and he was met with one roadblock after anorther. I wrote this person and he did not want it published unless he did it. That is months ago. It is a shame that a university has scans of almost the total run and no one is doing anything about it. Some of the stories were on Amazon but I understand they have been taken down. Maybe someone can break through the crap that is holding everything up. Dennis
