Description

An important moment in Waid's Birthright Series.....Superman says "Like Hell" here....
Luckily this ebay find was timed to a trip to the Philippines during Holy Week this year and I got to meet up with Gerry Alanguilan-the inker- in Manila. Very Nice Guy and I remember having to roll and wrap this artwork like I have never done before because afterwards, I spent the week in Puerto Galera for Holy Week (but the festivities were far from Holy)...a small remote island off the coast of the main island of Luzon...so this piece traveled by air, bus, trisykel (a motorcycle with a passenger seat on side), bangka (small canoe like boat) and back again...truly the boondocks (a pinoy word that made it in the dictionary by the way)...but it made it Home (Los Angeles) intact....whew!

The piece was finally signed by Leinil (who lives in the Philippines) in Orlando Comic-Con 2007....double whew!

I recently read the GN and was blown away by the art and story. Leinil and Gerry make a great penciler/inker team.
