DescriptionI have loved the art of Aron Wiesenfeld during his stint with Image in the 90's. I saw him as the “second wave” of new Image talent. When the 2 issue mini-series "Deathblow / Wolverine" was released in 1996, it really blew my mind. While it was light on story (many early Image books were), the art was eye-popping, kinetic in action sequences, and incredibly detailed. I always thought that if Geof Darrow and 80’s Frank Miller had an art baby, it would have been Deathblow / Wolverine. I have ALWAYS wanted a page from this book, but when Wiesenfeld left the comics game, getting a page seemed impossible.Well...all good things to those who wait I suppose. This is the 2nd page from this work that I own! This page emerged on Comic Link and, given the scarcity of Wiesenfeld's work, I had to make a serious effort to win the auction. I love it and now I'm hoping a Team 7 page emerges next! Social/Sharing |

The first two issues of Team7 were what Image did best and he exploded onto the scene with hyper details that the times demanded. If I'm not mistaken, after a long break, for the last two issues he completely changed the style into the noir Miller and Tim Sale category with this having a lot of the same. It's an incredible Image / Marvel crossover for sure as the last two panels give the shadows a life of their own.

Great page with lots of Miller & Darrow indeed. I was seriously considering that one, congrats.

Man, what a really great page! I was talking to Aron early lamenting on how I think his art was ahead of its time and unfortunately, came far too early.
I see a lot of modern comic artists who may have taken influence from his style (Ian Bertram rings a bell). His style would do very well now, but his fine art pieces certainly stand very nicely on their own. Check out the Aron piece I just picked up. I think you'd dig it.
