DescriptionAs covered in my other post about this set of commissions, Carlos counts both Bernie Wrightson and Franklin Booth as influences. You can see the Booth homage via the link below:Savage Land Rogue Commission For this one, we wanted to cover Wrightson and both of us similarly gravitated to the idea of Hulk as Frankenstein's monster. Ross was a decent substitution for Dr. Frankenstein and Carlos found an unpublished illustration of the duo which we settled on. He added his magic touches from there and this beauty was the final result. Social/Sharing |

Wow! 2/2 on these impressive tributes to two legendary artists by Dearmas. At a distance it really captures that Wrightson feel from his Frankenstein work. Hulk and Ross fit right into where they should be based on the original piece. Just awesome. congrats!

It's not time to Gamma change
Hulk relax, take it easy
You're still young, that's the Hulk
There's so much you have Carlos
Find a girl, settle down
If you want you mad stare green
Look at me, Thunderbolt but I'm happy
I was once like you are now and for Hulk then it's not easy
To be calm when you've found something magical
But take your time, ink a lot
Ink with everything Booth art
For you will still be here tomorrow Banner dreams may not
Oh, how can I try to explain?
'Cause when I do he turns the page again
It's always been the same, same Hulk story
From the comments I knew Ross I was ordered to listen
Now there's a way and I know that I have Carlos today
I Hulk, I Thunderbolt

By adding the tanks and New Mexico desert rock formations, Dearmas actually gives this homage the sense of depth that the Wrightson piece lacks, thereby slightly improving on it. Good show, young man!

Never heard of the artist, but this is one of the coolest drawings I've stumbled across in months. Nice score!
