"Let me show you the kind of love you and I finally deserve."

This is the splash/montage page of Harley and Jack's date night from the first White Knight series, and it is probably my second favorite image from all of Sean's White Knight work (after the Mr. Freeze splash page that I own). And still no Bat to be seen anywhere. :)

I absolutely love the storytelling on this page and how it captures a romantic evening between Harley and Jack. We start with a large image of Harley standing seductively with Jack, and I love that she's clearly in control of the moment/evening (while wearing a beautifully designed dress that has callbacks to her jester costume). The individual panels are date night moments that start out playful (my favorite is the second panel with the two of them sitting at an empty sushi bar as Harley's forcing Jack to eat something) but slowly culminate in the last panel with an intimate moment featuring just the two of them. The page layout isn't new (I'm reminded of a Dave Stevens page that used the same layout magnificently), but I think Sean uses it here well to show the events of one evening between two people in love.

Elegant style done with the magnetic attraction of their chemistry that results to bring out their playfulness in this romance. It's cramming many dates onto one page and giving us a rush of emotions.

Definitely a great page and one of the iconic moments from the first White Knight series. I especially love the poses and lighting in the last panel. Huge congratulations!

You don't have to know it's Batman or HQ and Jack to appreciate this page. Such great storytelling and acting in every panel. Love the depth, how there inhabit the space they are in, so many great little things to admire.

Thanks! And that's all so true. Part of me wasn't sure if I wanted to own a Jack/Joker page, but since they're not in their costumes, it's easy to forget that and just appreciate the storytelling here without focusing on who the characters are.

Like all of Sean Murphy's work, this page from Batman: White Knight tells its story visually. Love the tall figures of Harley and Jack on their first date. Through a series of panels we see how the date proceeded. Beautifully concise scenes that tell a story are very much the norm for Sean. This is one of the best pages from the first series I've seen. Kudos for picking it up!
