DescriptionContinuing immediately after the previous half splash I posted from this story, the top third of this page shows us (or I suppose, doesn't show us) Superman disarming all the Teraqui soldiers at the speed of Flash. The left third of the page offers up a classic "Superman destroying the weapons" pose, which is really quite fun, while the final third of the page offers up another classic trope from the Superman mythos: Superman getting very close to see what the villain is doing, while the villain then lifts a lid of some kind to spring the Kryptonite surprise on him! Sure, we've all seen it a million times and Superman falls for it every time, but I have to say that it's pretty fun to own an example of that trope on an original page, especially with Superman exclaiming the word "Kryptonite! in utter surprise, like that's never happened to him before.Social/Sharing |

Great splashy panel there in the bottom corner. Really shows how Tom always catches those iconic Superman moments. Rodier's inks are great here as well/

"Oh you scamps, what with your Kryptonite and South Africa and the Iraq, such as. You got me AGAIN! Naughty naughty."
(Little reference there to a certain Miss South Carolina pageant of yore ... such as)
It's so fun to see Superman use his super speed. You don't see that a lot. Definitely another classic page!

I'm with you there, Paul, and fully agree. After all, I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and the EyeRack everywhere like such as.
She didn't realize that she herself was the answer to the question! 😅 Did you notice at the end when she finsihed speaking, she actually puts this huge smile on her face like "Yes, I crushed it!". 😆
It's actually scary to think that she's now in her early 30's and probably pumped out a few MINI-MEs along the way.

Superman dealing out moral justice and being foiled by Kryptonite! This page will stand the test of time.

Superman should have started some sort of "Diamonds for Kryptonite" program where anyone with Kryptonite could exchange it for five times its weight in diamonds, no questions asked.

<Can you guys eat lead? Metal alloys? Let's see...> The <> tells you it's translated from Badguyese. I don't know why, but I get a kick from him saying Kryptonite in another language. (It's a proper name...) As with the last one, I dig the look of this team up between Rodier and Grummett. And Rodier really knows when to leave stuff bright vs putting down dark inks. I also like when inkers don't erase the pencils. :) Great page, Rubén. Congrats!

Super strong page with a pissed off Sup'.
Kryptonite!
(another trope would be "shoot the infidel" used time and again whenever the villain is a non-infidel living in the Middle East ^^)

A peach of a page, Ruben! As fun as it is already, I find that level doubles if you read the warlord's last line as, "Open it -- Let the fool see that the warhead isn't Nu-Kew-Lar!" Great page and nice write up, Ruben. Congrats!
