DescriptionOkay, so after events in the previous issue plus the Team Titans #2 cross over, in which Donna was presumably killed by the future version of her newborn son, she then comes back, reborn as TROIA, "greatest of all the Titan-Gods", in order to reclaim her newborn son in the present, from the clutches of that same son, but the future version of himself known as Lord Chaos. So yeah, uh, a nice little ball of confusion.Speaking of "ball of confusion", anyone remember this little ditty from back in high school: Ball of Confusion Anyway, back around the time this story line was started, Image Comics was just starting out and exploding, so Marvel and DC were both telling their artists to "Do it like the Image guys!". Grummett never caved to that pressure, but he didn't have to, as the finished look of the art is always determined by the inker. On this page, if you're familiar with Al Vey's work, you can clearly see the attempt at rendering the lines in the "Image style", unfortunately. Like many inkers, he struggled with the desire to ink in his own, natural style and with the editorial edict to go against his natural instincts to ink it his own way. In subsequent pages and issues, you can clearly see this struggle even within the same page, as parts of the image are clearly inked in an attempt to imitate the Image look while other parts are inked in his natural style. It couldn't have been fun to be working as an artist during those times and by all accounts, it wasn't. Anyway, I can still clearly see Grummett's style here, in spite of the Image inspired inking attempt, and it was cool to see yet another iteration of Donna's costumed identity, though thankfully for only a short time. Image style indeed complete with horrible costume BUT this is still nicely splashy with great work on her face and energy burst. Congrats :)

That's a great splash. Lots of energy and I certainly do see the Image influence. By the way, here is the original version of Ball of Confusion by the Temptations.

Great context with the Image style inking background info, I def see that on the page but it doesn't take away from it entirely. Nice splash!

Every Titan that you've ever cared about is going to get it. Every new team member will step aside.

The Queen is dead. Long live the Queen!! Spectacular splash. Yeah, there's some Image in there, but I see some other artistic influences too, and yet Grummett's style shines through, which is quite extraordinary and shows why Al Vey is such an amazing inker. And oooh how I love a full page splash!!

I have a fiery, undead left-cross delivery for a Mr Chaos, extra Love and Rockets. You sure know how to deliver the nostalgia, Rubén. :) And while I hear you on the image style, this is a really sweet Grummett splash. I especially like the foreshortening of that front hand, too. It might be a goofy thing to notice, but it's done perfectly. Another great Titans score. Big congrats!

When I first glanced at this splash I thought Rob Liefeld. Of course a closer examination showed it was not and your description explains why Liefeld came to mind. Still Grummett produced a dynamic in your face image. Congrats.
