Description

This issue was essentially the finale of the "The Titans Sell-Out!" sub-plot. On this really fun splash, Red Star is holding the new Toy Box spring catalogue, which features all the various Titans action figures and play sets. This page of course, represents the cover to the mock catalogue and features the two coolest and most popular New Titan action figures, Nightwing and Deathstroke!

I really enjoy this change of pace, as it forced Grummett and Vey to draw this page differently than they typically would. Perhaps tomorrow we can take look inside the catalogue & find out what other Titans toy merchandise Toy Box was selling back in 1992!

I'm assuming that Nightwing's "Action Civilian Clothing" comes complete with Terry Long wig and beard.

Oh shoot, I can't buy these toys !! See, the thing is, I don't agree with the unscrupulous business practices of Chemcodyne Petroleum, Lawn & Care Inc. But darn, those action figures look so cool and come with so many awesome accessories! They're Dangerous, they're Wanted, they're FUN !! Hahaha, really great piece. You really are on a Titans roll, my friend.

They're dangerous! Well, only if you feed them to your little sister. (Disclaimer: Don't feed then to your little sister!) Heh, that Nightwing looks just like a 90s figure I have. I like when the comics make fun of the toys. It's like when the local sports teams rib each other. I always dig those kind of subtly meta pages, where they push at the 4th wall a bit. Fun page, Rubén. Congrats!

Just something cool about seeing them drawn in action figure poses! All the lettering is great, too - an equally cool vintage-y feel. Digging these Titans merch adds, Ruben - congrats!
