DescriptionAlmost 20 years ago, I was visiting family in Calgary with not much to do. My brother in-law kindly offered to take me to the local comic shop. As I flipped through the back issues, I picked up Amazing Spider-man #350. I got to this page and stopped dead in my tracks. As a huge Spidey collector, I wanted the art instantly and wondered, "who owns THIS?" Months later, I found it on a dealer's site. I couldn't afford it at the time, but was able to make a three-way trade with another dealer. I had to give up John Romita's cover to Webspinners #1, which I had owned for less than a month. It was still framed in the shipping box. I re-sealed the box and sent it off. To the other dealer I shipped off a Bown Designs Spider-man bronze statue. A week later, this pin-up was in my hands. It's a beauty Ron, and I'd say you got the better financial end of the trade! By the way, aren't you from Cali? How'd your family end up in Calgary?

WOW! One of my favorite Spidey images ever! As you say I think it knocked a lot of us Spidey fans over the head tin a GREAT way after reading an equally great anniversary issue. What a way to cap. Sincere CONGRATS!

A special splash no doubt and being a black suit fan I can appreciate getting a piece in black done by Todd is very uncommon . Only a handful of issues had Todd work on black costume . This is grail material here . Thanks for sharing

Easy to get lost in the detail of this piece and not realize how clever the composition is--it's not just a split image, but split by Spidey's web. Wonder who came up with the idea, Erik or Todd? Iconic piece--you definitely got the better of this trade!

I'm not sure how I didn't comment on this when you first posted - probably the great, deep, simmering anger towards you, covered by a very thin veneer of congratulations!
What a piece!
