Which piece in your gallery is your favorite and why?
John Byrne & Terry Austin Fantastic Four corner art. I grew up loving John's run on the FF so finding the corner art at SDCC was too good to pass up. That art is iconic.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
I'm an advertising art director. I started collecting art in the early 90s. The first piece I bought was from an ad in the Comics Buyers Guide from Albert Moy. I had to call him on the phone to reserve it!
How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start?
I'd say the early 90s. I was always a comic book kid and a friend's brother was buying Kirby art. That sparked my interest, so I bought a Jimmy Olson Kirby page from Albert Moy. Then a Kirby Silver Star page from my buddy's brother. When I really got into it, I couldn't afford it, so I got into commissions, occasionally picking up published stuff.
How do you display/store your collection at home?
Some of the pieces are framed on my home office wall. Most are in Itoya portfolios.
What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions?
I'd love an Art Adams commission. A Dark Knight page is out of reach, but that'd be a grail for me. Something by Crumb.
