Description

Picked this commission up during Mike's live chat with Bill Cox on Comic Art Live. I gave Mike three choices and he jumped on Jaime Hernandez's cover to Love & Rockets #1. This is instantly one of my favorite cover recreations. I love how he chose to slightly move the characters, change their expressions.

Then I colored it and added the trade dress and I'm not embarrassed to say I think it really ups the nostalgia factor.

This is great! It has the same elcetic feel of the original. For me it would be more nostalgic if you colored it to have those fingerprints that always shows up when handling the black portion of the magazine. The paper that used to print with back in the day always had those. Or I just ate my lunch before buying comics.

I had to pass up that commission opportunity at the time, but I was excited to see what others got. This is fantastic, made even better by the fact that I would never guess Allred without the credit—but once I see it's him, I can't unsee it.

BRILLIANTLY inspired choice for an Allred recreation, Ron - this is amazing! And Mike kills it here, investing just as much life, love, rockets, and soul into it as the original. Pure justice done to this gorgeous, classic cover. Fantastic choice, Ron! Ultimate congrats!
