Description

This cover is a huge milestone for me and my collection. It's not only my first Geoff Shaw cover, but it's one of the most significant Cosmic Ghost Rider pieces out there. As the cover to the character's first self-titled series, unarguably the most iconic and definitive image of the character, and the debut of the Punisher skull on the character's chest, it is likely only second in significance to the character's first appearance page. This cover was also published as the cover of the trade paperback for the first mini-series and has been published on the recap page of almost every issue of Cosmic Ghost Rider.

Thank you to everyone who has helped make my collection what it is and enormous thanks to Bob for being willing to part with this piece.

Baller Rob! This is a killer piece of OA man! i really love all the negative space usage Shaw is a badass. I love it in black and white.

Outstanding! A definitive image, if not THE, of Cosmic GR! Love the face forward shot, the detailed rendering, and those splotches add a gritty feel. Great looking piece throughout and definitely a worthy cover image! Congrats!

I can't believe I've never commented on this piece! Phenomenal Cosmic Ghost Rider cover by one of the best comic book artists around--Geoff Shaw! I love this image of CGR standing amidst a pile of skulls, his own skull head burning brightly in a clear domed helmet and intense cosmic power radiating out of the weapons in his hands. It's one of the great comic book covers of the decade, IMHO. Geoff Shaw really put this one out of the park...er, out of the Universe!
