Q: | Which piece in your gallery is your favorite and why? |
A: | It's so hard to choose! I have so many pieces I love, but if I had to choose one, it would probably have to be the cover to Cosmic Ghost Rider #1. It's easily become the most iconic image of the character and might be the single best example of Geoff Shaw's expert rendering abilities. |
Q: | Please tell us a little about yourself. |
A: | When I started collecting, I knew I wanted to collect pieces from stories that I loved. I also wanted to build a collection that was more than the sum of its parts. Getting into the hobby, my two favorite arcs were Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic's God Butcher + God Bomb run on Thor and Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw's Thanos Wins. As I started digging into the hobby, Cosmic Ghost Rider seemed like the perfect focus for my collection if I wanted great art from a variety of artists from stories that I loved. It's been a blast collecting the character and I'm constantly in awe of the incredible collection I've managed to assemble. |
Q: | How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start? |
A: | I've been collecting comic art since March 2019. My journey is likely similar to most in this hobby. I collected comics when I was younger, but fell out of the hobby as I grew up. The Marvel movies reinvigorated my interest in reading the comics. I started collecting comics again and it was only a matter of time before I discovered that one could actually purchase the original art. It's been a short, wild ride since! |
Q: | How do you display/store your collection at home? |
A: | I have several pieces framed and plan to frame the majority of the covers I own. My unframed pieces are stored in mylars with archival backing boards in a large tupperware bucket. I've found 13x19 mylars and boards to be the most effective for storing a wide variety of different sized pieces. |
Q: | What are your top five most wanted original pages or commissions? |
A: | I'm actually really happy with my collection! I've pulled together what will unquestionably be in perpetuity the definitive Cosmic Ghost Rider collection while also picking up a few other stellar and nostalgic pieces. While I'm sure I'll pick up a few more Cosmic Ghost Rider pieces along the way, I'm excited to start building a more eclectic collection going forward. |
