DescriptionWhile traveling to our first HeroesCon, my son was viewing the Instagram posts of the artists appearing at the show. When he came across this image it totally amazed us. The decision was made to visit Joseph Dragunas once the show opened.I was able to pick up this featured piece from Joe that Friday morning. It is a future bookplate showcasing one of his signature characters, Sir Death. Artwork measures a large 14 inches x 17 inches. Ink on heavy Bristol board. Wonderful detail throughout this piece. Dragunas is a young artist with a very bright future. Glad to have been fortunate enough to acquire this fine example of his work. Th illustration work has the details like it was scratchboard or etching with such sharp and precise lines. It has the feel of a grand and timeless achievement.

Beautiful piece by Joe! He is in a league of his own when it comes to this kind of bookplate style illustration. He just keeps getting better at it as he grows an aritst and his ability to use new and different tools. Well chosen.

Joe has that mix of stunning design sense and amazing detail. I don't know what a collaboration between him and Jeremy Bastian would look like, but I would love to see it.

Some truly unreal line work here. Wow. What you call a labor of love :) Got a bit of Cho vibe which is of course a good thing. And as great as it looks here, I'm sure it looks that much better in person. Congrats!

Gorgeous bookplate by Joseph Dragunas featuring Sir Death. Wonderful drawing, reminiscent of antique steel engravings that were popular 100 years ago. The sheer amount of detail in this bookplate is amazing. Sir Death is dressed in a steel helmet and steel breastplate and a cape, but his face is a skull and his arms are simply bones. Below him are two skeleton guards in full armor as well. The whole effect is quite extraordinary and while few work in this kind of detail any more, it once was very popular. Fantastic pick-up, congrats!

Joe is such a talented artist and become a friend over the past couple of years. My sons and I are big time Dragunas fans. Great creator. Even better person.

I also discovered his work this year at OAX i bought 2 pages
1 of death and 1 of life....I need to post them and get Mr. Dragunas more love lol
