I have never met a comic fan who hated Hostess ads. Yes, they are the products of pure commercialism, maybe/certainly crass, but they are the crass commercialism of a more innocent age, sweet (no pun intended -- well, a maybe a little intended), self-knowing in their formula and absurdly fun.
