Such a super fun movie from the 80s. This displays some of Dan's appreciation for Mort Drucker, but also some pretty tight work including a spot on Max von Sydow. Thanks Dan!

This movie had a serious affect on me when I saw it at 4 years of age. While it doesn't hold up as much today.. the nostalgia of this movie is alive and well. Love this art! Dan killed it! Congrats!

Thanks for the comment. Surprised to hear you don't feel it holds up. I saw as is a young teen - MANY times. While I didn't know the term at the time, I think camp is what they were targeting & completely nailed. Just meant to be a fun romp I think. Visually splendid and some of Queen's best music ever. A recent rewatch made me realize it's a bit of a love letter to Barbarella as well. Cool drawing regardless. Thanks again. BTW - your gallery is Amazing! I'll try to get back by for a visit.

Yes, I definitely see Mort Drucker's influence. I often wondered what Drucker's art would look like if he drew a serious adaptation of a movie, and I think it would have looked something like this.
