DescriptionFew artists have shaken up the comic art world as quickly as Tradd Moore. After his phenomenal breakthrough with Silver Surfer Black, many wondered if he could ever achieve that level of artistic success again. Now they have their answer in Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise. This miniseries is a breathtakingly beautiful exhibition of Tradd’s artistic skills. Every page demonstrates his incredible ability to mesmerize the reader with dazzling visual delights. The stunning vistas, the mystical beings, and the kaleidoscope of effects on display here are jawdropping. Even the way Tradd draws Doctor Strange himself is startlingly fresh, all curves and swirls and smooth flowing lines accented with spot blacks and intricate hand drawn patterning to create grey tones. On this opening splash, Strange appears to be stirring from sleep or a trance. In his mind he’s searching for something, but finds...NOTHING. His astral self wanders alone in a unknown land, not certain where he is, why he’s here, or even how he got here. His quest to find the answers is the narrative thread of the story. Written as well as drawn by Moore, Stephen Strange’s journey is filled with gorgeous panoramas and enigmatic entities. It’s a tale perfectly suited for Moore’s idiosyncratic style, which here seems part Moebius, part Barry Windsor-Smith, part Peter Max, but all Tradd Moore. It’s an absolutely stunning tour de force that stretches the boundaries of what comic book storytelling can be. IMHO, Tradd Moore is a visionary talent and I’m delighted to add this title splash to my collectionSocial/Sharing |

Great image of Doctor Strange, in Tradd's distinct style. This must be great to see in person. Thanks for sharing, congrats!

Wow what a well-written description! Tradd Moore should hire you to write all his press releases lol. But yeah, Tradd's unique and intriguing artistic style is beautifully showcased here, and perfect for such an enigmatic character as Doctor Strange. I really love what he did with this beautiful title splash. Major congrats, Bill!

The retro vibe of this is great, and I gotta give props to the colorist for making the printed page look just as unique as the inks. Congrats!

Even the sorcerer supreme sometimes eats to much peach cobbler and just needs a little shuteye.

A beautiful representation of Tradd Moore's work, it's a unique voice that I am enjoying seeing more of Moore. He has a bit of a Alphonse Mucha feel to this piece, could there be some sort of hidden connection betwwwn their last names. Ha! Great find, congrats!

There can be no denying that the world of Doctor Strange is probably the most well suited part of any superhero universe for Moore's stylings! Congrats on getting a chapter splash, Bill!

I'm a sucker for an artist who does their own thing. And no one does it like Tradd Moore.
Plus hand-drawn type? It can't get much better.

That rarest of things for Bill's collection -- a stupendous work that's not a cover! Congrats on this delight. Having dined and hung out with Tradd/Felix & co., I can confirm he is a wonderful human being, just from a single encounter.

Classic Tradd Moore with the elegance and noodling. I really love the image and title page. I bet Strange is relaxed because he wanted "Nothing" more than to be in Bill J's art collection. Rest easy, Dr Strange. You're home.

A touch of magic from Tradd Moore! His art is visionary and pioneering as it does something to branch out the medium instead of following the established tributaries of the artform. Moore's surrealist art is a perfect match for the character who can peer into different dimensions that had not been imagined before.

Tradd Moore is one of those artists who turns the medium on its head. What an amazing piece of art -- psychedelic but still very sharp. What a great piece!

Fantastic pickup from a story that will age very well. The most striking aspect of this page, for me, is the background layer under the Strange figure. Mesmerizing.

Strange in repose; a fine example of how Tradd can render any scene into a masterpiece of draftsmanship. He chooses his subjects well, and he has an uncanny knack for making every project uniquely his own. I'm thrilled that you now own this beautiful piece, congrats Bill!!

Very cool, thanks for sharing this great splash! Nice to see artists stretching out with increasingly personal style choices. Looks like Moore has dipped his nibs in the PCR inkwell and is venturing forth into increasingly unique and expressive work.
Now I have to find these comics!

These Tradd splash pages weren't easy to get (price or speed), and this iha a full-on Doctor Strange image to boot. Really dig the contrast between the simple Strange figure and the hyper detailed background. Congrats on the pickup!

What a way to open things up! Visually arresting stuff - we've never seen the Doc like this. Love the unique stylizatoin, especially how his cape flows upward, and that hazy kind of background provides a nice contrast. Lastly...can't beat the lettering incorporated into the art like this. Big congrats, Bill!

It doesn't get better then this Bill. I'm a huge Tradd fan, especially of the DSFS issue 1 and 2 and of course SSB 1-5. I completely missed this so let me take a moment to praise. As you said Tradd has influences, but no one can deny his unique talent for bringing his mind's eye talent to a blank board. Everything about this page draws you in to find out more. Tradd Moore, that is. NOTHING ! A fluid capture of DS quite still while the curve lines and waves suggest energy all around him. I gawk and fawn over many of your gallery pieces anyway. I have to say this one from the modern age will be a classic for many years to come.
