DescriptionI received my first ever sketch cover in the mail today, and it features the man without whom none of us would be able to enjoy CAF, Dueling Dealers, the Comic Art Live YouTube channel, the Comic Art LIVE virtual conventions and so much more because none of them would exist without him. I am, of course, talking about Bill Cox. Bill has done an amazing job bringing OA fans together into a true community, and I am grateful to him for everything he’s done to make the OA experience more fun. If there’s ever a Comic Book Art Collector Hall of Fame, Bill should be the first person inducted.I received this sketch cover as part of an Indiegogo campaign for a special CAF tribute Vampirella/Dracula Unholy #1 cover. Special thanks to Nick Barrucci for putting together this wonderful project, to Ken Haeser for his spectacular work on the CAF tribute cover and this sketch cover, and to M L for ensuring that the original art for the CAF tribute cover ended up with Bill, the person who has given our hobby a home. Beefcake McBilligan walked into the room, his massive sword swung between his legs in front of him like the horn of a very proud powerful rhino. He looked as though he could be the bigger and veinier brother of the Strips #2 inside cover as the sword relaxed and dangled. It swung low very slowly like the heavy and Unholy instrument it was. McBilligan then proceeded to take out a 55 gallon drum of polish and began to slowly apply it liberally to lather upon his proud magnum sized sword. First working slowly and then more furiously to create a shiny purple beacon that could be seen for miles away. It awoke and got the attention of Vampirella as she thirsted for such a sword. Quickly, she was taken by his curly locks and his girthy smile and could not resist Beefcake McBilligan. Vampirella proceeded to type out a Dynamite comic with Christopher Priest with art by Ken Haeser and Donny Hadwidjaja. Together the two analyzed it closely inch by inch, fold by fold and Hulk hand by Hulk hand to closely examine every curve and spine tick that popped up. It was then that Vampirella placed a leather mask with a zipper mouth on McBilligan's head. He was then given a whip to go along with his mighty sword and he liked it. Yadda, Yadda, Yadda, the minigolf clubhouse was covered in a not so nice red and white mixture of blood and love juices for the new owner to clean up.

The first great CAF-inspired adult novel - The Eighteenth Hole: Between Love and Purgatory, by Marcus Wai. Coming in July to a behind-the-counter 7-11 rack near you.

The likeness is uncanny! I mean, that's exactly how Bill smiles! Got a natural mischievous bent to it :) VERY cool for a first sketch cover, Michael - congrats!
