DescriptionThor: God of Thunder is one of my absolute favorite comic runs, and Issue #2 is easily my favorite of the story. The second issue sees the introduction of Gorr, the God Butcher and the Necrosword; both of which went on to be significant parts of Jason Aaron's story and seem poised to be critical to the future of the MCU.I'm beyond ecstatic to add this particular page to my collection as it is one of the single best examples of Gorr and his amorphous weapon, the Necrosword, in the entire arc. This page is also elevated by the fact that it is not missing any components of the art. If you're familiar with Ribic's working style, he often reuses images from one page to another or draws components of a page on separate boards. Not so with this page - it is a rare example on an exemplary page where all the art is present. Gorr's face in the last panel was also used on Page 17, Panel 3 in both Thor: God of Thunder #2 and #9 (a pretty wild coincidence it was Panel 3 of Page 17 in both issues). Huge thanks to Reba for be willing to part with this page and allowing me to add it to my collection. Published: November 28, 2012 Social/Sharing |

Big kidney shot! Good one, Thor, but I think it only pissed Gorr off. Very cool to get a 100% complete Ribic page. I love how he floated the panels to support the action. Great pick-up. Congrats!
