AN ADORABLE DRAWING OF TWO SEUSSIAN CHARACTERS EACH HOLDING A SIGN “BEST WISHES”, “DR. SEUSS”

DESCRIPTION: A charming original detailed drawing by Dr. Seuss, rendered in colored pencils, crayon and ink on paper. The artwork depicts two adorable Seussian characters, one standing raising both hands, the other sitting on one hand of the other in a delicate balancing act. Both Seussian characters are holding up a square, each signed by Dr. Seuss of “BEST WISHES”, and “DR. SEUSS”. Dr. Seuss embellished one character in yellow pencil, with the other in orange pencil. The boxes are each color washed in blue pencil. A wonderful whimsical piece. Perfect for a collector of Dr. Seuss art. The drawing is signed by Dr. Seuss within the squares held up by both characters. The art is in excellent condition.

Present Matted, glazed and framed in a stunning glossy off-white wavy frame perfectly complimenting the artwork in all its whimsey. The art is framed using all archival materials and UV glass. A fantastic scarce piece, complete with an LOA and chain of custody documentation (see below). Framed to a completed size of 14″ x 14″. The art sheet is 7″ x 7″.

PROVENACE: The art was purchased from a prominent gallery, who today has locations in New York City and Las Vegas, and will come with very detailed provenance. The gallery specializes in illustration art and has been doing so for over 25 years (specific specialty is children’s illustration art). The art will come with a copy of the original invoice, and their certificate of authenticity, and the provenance. This piece is Ex: The Stu Reisbord Collection, circa 1970’s. A copy of the original bill of sale from the art gallery will also be included with the piece, including all the necessary paperwork.
