Description

Cover dated October 2006.

No costumes here. No superhero action. Just Felicia Hardy getting mad at what’s on the television following “lunch” (their term) with Thomas Fireheart, a/k/a Puma.

I got this page a few years ago in a deal that I’ve talked about elsewhere that closed in a parking lot. I wasn’t even 100% sure of what I was getting at that time, but I was happy when all was said and done. Medina draws hair like nobody’s business.

My biggest takeaway is that because I've neve read the 80's ASM issues after first reading them monthly, I don't even remember Puma having the ability to change to human form. Felicia looks great in that second panel, but damn, when and why did she start banging the enemy?

Puma is one of those characters that has moved back and forth between being Spidey's ally and Spidey's foe.  This issue is from a period where Puma was more ally than enemy.

No costumes needed! Great dramatic page. I love Angel's work!

Ah, I should've figured. No villain avoids becoming besties with their arch enemies eventually!

For the time, that was an expensive 'lunch.'

I'm sure it was worth it.

Medina can flat out DRAW, man. And his work is interesting which is another plus. Hanna's inks complement Medina's pencils really well and I love that they masochistically chose to render Puma's arm in negative in that final panel.

Hardy, when I think about you
I think about lunch
Puma, can’t live without you
And your lunch

If I had those Black Cat dreams
Of my yesterday (yesterday)
I would wrap you in the webbing
'Til I'm dyin' (webbin', webbin')
On the page

Feel the inkin’
Feel like makin' lunch
Feel like makin' lunch
Feel like makin' lunch
Feels like parking lot deals too

Angel, when I see what you drew
I think about lunch
Hanna, if they ink without you
I live without lunch

And if I had television
And Plasma’s broken (broken)
I still love you both night and day
Lunch satisfyin'

I bet Paul Rodgers got all the free lunches he wanted back in Bad Company's heyday.  Rock stars get all the lunches.

This one had me rolling, Marcus (even more than usual) :)

Great page, filled with Medina style, Michael, and taken over the top with Scott Hanna's inks (especially in those last couple panels).  Great example, and really fun to look at!  Congrats!

Not the typical situation that puts a cat at ease 😼 Very fun page with some lovely shots of BC!

I loved that arc (if only for the art, to be honest). Very fun page with great acting.

Sensational Spider-Man page (pun intended) with a great Black Cat scene. I love Angel Medina's Spidey art tremendously and will be adding a page to CAF this month as well! Congrats!!!!

I know I read this issue at the time it hit the stands, but I don't remember this particular romantic relationship.  Veeeery iiiiinteresting.  And wow, I love this art!!  Angel Medina is a fabulous talent, and Scott Hanna inks are always gold.

"Lunch" :)  Love BC, love Puma, love Medina, so love this page!  The latter really killed it on his Spidey run.  Congrats, man!
